How the game changes
- Start with one random rhythm game and receive the other nineteen level unlocks through the multiworld. Clearing a stage at the selected rank sends its check.
- The default goal requires ten Amazing-rank clears before the Final Mixtape becomes available. Clear the Final Mixtape to report victory. Cool and Perfect standards and the clear quota are configurable.
- Optional 16, 45 and 78 RPM requirements add alternate-speed checks and twenty record items. Own the level and its record, then choose the record and speed before entering the stage.
- Badgesanity adds sixteen achievement checks and four multiplayer cartridges. Version 1.1.0 corrects the Symphony and Encore cartridge mapping.
- Optional DeathLink exits the current playable stage on a received death. Sending a death uses an increasing chance on missed beats after the first successful beat, with a short rate limit; it is not a fixed 5% chance.
- The 1.1.0 client changes connection handling and title-screen transitions, including fixes announced for early menu input, custom-menu conflicts and returning to the title after disconnect.
Before you start
- Pair client 1.1.0 with APWorld 1.1.0. The client release requires the non-beta game version 1.8.0 or later; the World release still has an older 1.6.0+ heading. Follow the client requirement. Only a Windows setup is established here.
- Install BepInEx 5.4 x64, launch and close the game once, then set HideManagerGameObject to true in BepInEx.cfg. Put the released client folder in BepInEx/plugins. Install the separate APWorld in Archipelago and use its supplied YAML to generate the room before connecting in-game.
- The reviewed setup uses the separate APWorld and client archive. Generic Archipelago installers offered by the World fork were outside this package review. The manifest lists Archipelago 0.6.5 as its minimum, while the current client announces 0.6.7 during login; use 0.6.7 or later for this pairing.
- Back up saves before installing or changing rooms. Seed/slot filenames are present, but the item counter and game save are written separately, and complete save isolation and crash recovery are not established.
- Remain connected for checks and the final clear. Disconnect cleanup returns to the title screen and clears pending state; interrupted checks and victory are not backed by a persistent resend queue.
- Excluded alternate-speed stages remain checks with restricted item placement. Their clears are counted differently by the World goal logic and the client; do not rely on excluded clears to satisfy the Final Mixtape quota.
- The World regards the Final Mixtape as reachable once its quotas are met; the playable objective additionally requires clearing it. Confirm the victory report in the room after finishing.
- The client saves connection settings, including the room password, in a local plaintext file. Use an explicit wss:// address when your server supports it to avoid automatic fallback to unencrypted transport.
- If the connection screen becomes stuck after an invalid host or damaged save, restart the game and check the connection settings and backup. This review did not execute the game or establish recovery across crashes.
